"I Hope You Go Out Of Business"

This is what Senator Harry Reid, the majority leader in the U. S. Senate, said to a man at a Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce meet 'n greet. Read the newspaper's report and response to Senator Reid's comment.

Is this what we want in a powerful Senate position?

Marine Takes Congressman To The Woodshed

If you haven't seen this video, you should:

This marine veteran did what marines do best - hit 'em hard, hit 'em hard again and again and again. God bless this man for expressing what those of us think about government-run health care.

Don't listen to the propaganda coming from the White House, the Congress, or the mainstream media. READ the bill for yourself. People in these town halls know history and have read the bill. Go here for the bill:

Until next time, God save the Republic.

Young Voters

One of my favorite writers and TV commentators is Michael Barone. He has his finger on the pulse of the voting public like no one I know. Take a look at this recent article of his: Young Voters Should Take Another Look At Obama.

The Health Care Bill

Here is what I understand is the health care bill:

Democrats Orchestrate . . .

Go to Roll Call's article entitled "Democrats Orchestrate Town Hall Counterpunch."

I ask the question again as to which side of this issue is truly organizing when Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, the American Medical Association (17% of doctors are members) and Service Employees International Union are putting up 12 million dollars for an ad campaign to sell this health care bill? I maintain that most of the people showing up at the town halls are ordinary Americans very concerned about government making life and death decisions and the quality of care. This affects everyone! I do not want a bureaucrat deciding what medical care is available for me and what is not. Then, if medical care is denied me for whatever reason, I have no other recourse since government will control all of health care options. As a cancer survivor, you can well imagine that I am closely following this debate.

If you haven't paid a lot of attention to this controversy, please do some research. What happens here affects you, your family, and future generations. Investigate both sides; do not take the word coming from Washington or even from the mainstream media. Check out other sources. Keep your ears open because there is something about a deal between big Pharma and the administration something to the tune of 80-150 million being paid by Pharma to the government to help pass this bill. I am not very clear on the details or what it means except that I am listening closely to see what comes of this.

Until next time, God bless America.

About Me

My photo
I'm retired and now have time to pursue whatever strikes my fancy. I'm a city girl turned country with the nearest town being about 10 miles away. A small blip on the health horizon appeared in 2007 in the form of breast cancer. Had surgery, did chemo and radiation, and couldn't feel any better if I were 30 years old. I've picked up my old hobbies with a renewed gusto and thank God every day for granting me so many blessings.
