20 Things You May Not Know About Obamacare

I am not Catholic but American Catholic has an article on the health care bill, "20 Things You May Not Know About Obamacare." You might find it interesting; I did.

Rue the Day

People that were for this health care bill will rue the day it passed. Just the bribes that were done to buy votes should have been a clue that this was a terrible bill for the country.

I think the worst bribe I've heard about is where 25 percent of the water needed in the San Fernando Valley, the bread basket of the country, was turned on for two congressmen's yes votes on the HC bill. The EPA turned off the water to save some stupid fish. Farms were blowing away last year and over 20,000 people were put out of work. Tell me how buying votes for water is much different than actions taken by various dictators throughout history?

Remember what government gives can be taken away. Does anyone truly think that health care will NOT be rationed? Isn't medicare broke? What about the post office? How about Amtrack? How about social security? How about the highway trust fund? How is the education system since Washington has gotten involved? Every one of those agencies is broke or will be soon.

Is anyone actually naive enough to think the people in Washington will not spend the health care monies collected on special projects that have absolutely nothing to do with health care? When that happens, don't you realize government is going to come back with rationing and higher and higher health care premiums? Like, they are going to lie about the cause of the HC shortfall. Age 53 in England is considered too old for certain medical procedures.

A pox on the people who passed this bill. They will pay in this life or in the next. I just hope I am still around to see their downfall. My congressman voted yes; I am going to devote the next eight months to seeing his defeat in November, 2010.

Until next time, God bless.

Is Sarah Palin A Hypocrite?

Gov. Palin recently gave a talk to a group in Canada. She mentioned that her family had gone to Canada for emergency medical treatment. One incident cited was on her six-year old brother. Sarah was two-years old at the time. The media is all over this indicating that Gov. Palin is a hypocrite. However, pertinent details are left out, such as it was during the 1960's while she and her family lived in a very rural Alaska where Canadian medical treatment was a few hours away by auto and medical treatment in the U.S. was at least 6-8 hours away by boat, shorter, of course, if they flew.

I am confused. Is a two-year old, Sarah Palin, responsible for parents seeking emergency medical care for a brother of six-years old at an emergency center, located in another country a couple of hours drive from the home, instead of the parents driving/flying/ferrying to an emergency center in your own country which is still today 6 hours of automobile travel time to Juneau? Think of a very rural 1960’s Alaska.

While a few Canadian providences were experimenting with various collective (socialized) medial care programs in 1966, it was 1984 before Canada passed a national health care system. Has anyone stated or proved that the parents of two-year old Sarah did not pay for services rendered? But, how is Sarah Palin a meanie, is hypocritical and wants to deny Americans socialized health care when her brother may or may not have received emergency care under a socialized system that was not nationalized until 1984?

What would you choose to do today? What would you have done in the 1960's? Is Sarah Palin guilty of hypocrisy? You decide.

Until next time, God bless.

Born Again American

Here is a new song written by Keith Carradine and performed by 14 singers, musicians and two choral groups. It will bring tears to your eyes.

Here is the Manhattan Delcaration: A Call of Christian Conscience, signed by laity, pastors, bishops and archbishops of all denominations. The Church is standing up and ready to go to jail if necessary. Enough is enough.

About Me

My photo
I'm retired and now have time to pursue whatever strikes my fancy. I'm a city girl turned country with the nearest town being about 10 miles away. A small blip on the health horizon appeared in 2007 in the form of breast cancer. Had surgery, did chemo and radiation, and couldn't feel any better if I were 30 years old. I've picked up my old hobbies with a renewed gusto and thank God every day for granting me so many blessings.
